Crazy Fingers:
Luckily, this wing does have slots on it. And at this point, I would probably want dive the doubles independent since I don't want to invest in a manifold. $100 - $200 here and there is really adding up, and I already need to get a whole new reg set either way. :(

I'm not sure "new to doubles" and "new to independent twins" is the best mix.

Go slow. Get familar with your new gear. Balance (trim) and buoyancy will be different in a set of doubles.

Managing independents is a task load in itself.

Diving is expensive, doubles is $$ squared. You don't need the most expensive gear, but Nickle Rocketry is a very poor way to start down the path to "Tech"

Okay, I see how it works.. but why can't you just slip a cam strap through the slots on the BP/W and then around a single tank and just crank it down? Will it wiggle if you do that? Will the non-round shape you create put too much stress on the cam buckle?

Maybe I need to get my setup and physically look at it before this becomes clear.
You should not need the STA with Golem wing. It has built-in STA rods that prevent wiggling. The wing comes with two SS screws to hold it to the BP even with the tank removed.

Also, the Low-Profile Stream backlate is virtually an STA, since the profile of center goove is reversed on it to hold the tank close to your back.
