Hello,

Purchased some new regulators and am confused on whether or not I got the right ones??? Can someone (perhaps Scott even) assist me in identifying the models I have so I can put the debate to rest. Friends say one thing and the shop say another. . .

I purchased: 1-Flathead VI first stage and 2-ZX second stages.

My friends of varying levels of experience thing that I have the Envoy Deluxe second stages because the cap is white when the cap color on the Zeagle website is black for the DX.

I can see that the only difference between the two models is the anti-freeze heat exchanger otherwise they are exactly the same. How can I identify this piece?

The shop said that the cap color is not a factor as they can put whatever color cap on that they want.

Any help would be apprecaited.

Thanks!

Duh! Now, why did I not think of that. . . Will do when I get home.

Cap doesn't make a difference.

Here are some pictures to try and help ID the regulators.

Thanks!

The heat exchanger is that little piece between the hose and the reg... it kinda' looks like a gear... it's just some fins so the reg can be warmed up by the water. And yes... your's have them... I saw it in one of the pictures. You can see them easily on both on your center picture.

Thanks scubatoys for the reply!

Awesome, so then that means they are ZX second stages. Cool. Peace of mind and I can gently correct my friends.

Is the cap easy to remove and replace/adjust or should I leave that to the professionals?

Twist. That simple.

Rainer, thanks, did not want to try something that I may not have been able to fix :)
