On May 28, Roatan experienced an 7.1 earthquake. Fortunately the epicenter was 30+ miles offshore but there was some damage on the island. Amongst the CCV family, Jorge's house, captain of the teal boat, suffered considerable damage. I understand that his house is now being held together with blue tarps. A number of Jorge's friends have come together to help using the Roatan Childrens' Fund as the tool for getting money to him to assist in his rebuilding efforts.

I am contacting you to ask you to consider helping Jorge rebuild his house.
Any amount will help. If you will follow this link Roatan Childrens Fund | How to contact us you will have the option of using PayPal or mailing a check to the address in California. When you make your donation specify that it is for Jorge and the Fund will direct the contribution to Jorge.

I know that this is a bit convoluted but it is Honduras that you are trying to send money to.

Thanks for your time and I know Jorge will appreciate your help.

Yes, I saw the same thing with their PayPal button and e-mailed her too!

I've had Jorge as Captain on both my previous trips. Great guy!!!!!

yeah...I am sending Lynn a check this weekend with Jorge's name on the memo line....I know they want to run all the donations through Lynn...I ask if I could just take it to CCV when I go and Lynn told me that they would just mail it to her....she is wonderful the way she has helped the Childrens home and the schools on Roatan....she is a true coconut....

also don't forget about the kids....she is also collecting toys or money for the kids of the CCV staff and the other children for their Christmas Fund.....only 6 months away:)
