I know this has been done to death, but asking for a short cut.
I am trying to figure out if wearing a 7mm and hood with booties off Cali, would the AL Zuma provide sufficient lift for a 5', 125 woman?

There are several "lift" threads, where would be the easiest to uncover this mystery???

According to the AL web site, the sizing chart for XS (your size) Zuma has max 22 lbs of lift. I don't know the buoyancy of your 7mm suit etc. but if you know your equipment, plug it into the lift calculator for a good estimate.

As a California wetsuit diver (7mm thickness minimum), you're probably going to need more than 22 lbs. of lift from a BCD. I'd probably look at something with a minimum of 30 lb. of lift. It all depends on how everything is setup. An important variable to consider is how much lead will be riding on the BCD (weight-integrated pockets, trim weights, etc.) and how much lead will be attached to the diver (weight belt, weight harness, etc.).

The BCD should be able to provide enough lift for the greater of the following: (1) compensation for maximum compression of the diver's exposure suit at depth or (2) ability to float the rig + full tank + any rig-attached weight (without the diver in it) at the surface.

Hope this helps...
