I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I am a PADI MSDT and Biologist who lives in Maryland. I have done most of my diving and diving related work in the BVI's and some in the Galapagos.

Cabrerad,

Welcome to the board. It is great that you'll be able to inject some science into threads every now and then. You'll find a lot of friendly posters here.

Enjoy,

Larry

Duckdive,

Yes The Galapagos were pretty much unforgetable. I was actually born in Ecuador and had an internship at Galapagos Sub Aqua (Dive shop on Santa Cruz) set up in between college and graduate school. It was a pretty good deal getting to dive for free and paid some in return for giving talks on marine biology and helping out in the shop and on dives. It's different diving from tropical coral reef diving as there is less sessile invertebrate life, but an awe inspiring assemblage of large fish (Hammerheads, reef sharks, wahoo, amberjack, groupers, and not to mention mutant damselfish (8-10 inches, "Giant Damselfish"). If you ever get the chance to go, do it.
