Hello everyone. I've been lurking around the site for a week or so and decided to make it official. I'm not certified yet. I have class dates set for April and May 2012 for certification. So in the mean time, I've completed my online Open Water Diver course through SSI. Been selling some gear I no longer use to put toward my dive certification class and dive equipment. Looking forward to getting wet.

Welcome from another Kentuckian Diver! Just curious, where are you getting certified? I'm located in Owensboro & frequent the quarry in Hopkinsville. Perhaps we'll meet up some time & even dive together. As Ron stated, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I'm going through Mermet Springs, IL. I live in Paducah, so it's only 25 miles or so from me. I looked at the Hopkinsville group. Their Open Water cert is more expensive, but the rentals look pretty even. Looks like a good spot to dive. I'll be checking them out after I certify.

Glenn's operation is a good one. He sends our shop a lot of technical students. I get over there about once every other year or so (it's nearly a 3hr drive for me). A good friend of mine & went through a Full Cave course with me, Dr. Wes Thompson, & his wife dives there all the time. If you wish, keep me informed of your progress. If possible, I'll try to get over there some time in 2012, but will be honest,.... I teach a lot, so have only limited time to go "play" during warmer weather. If you're ever at Pennyroyal, & I'm not teaching, look me up & I'll be glad to show you around, as I have about 450 dives in that quarry alone.
