Hi scubaboard,

I am new to the forums here on scubaboard. My scuba background is in research diving and sport diving instruction.

Are there any vintage scuba equipment/diving forums here?

Cheers, bryon

Welcome to the board!

Welcome to SB..

Aloha Byron and welcome to the ScubaBoard!
As far as I know there is no vintage forum. But if you run a search on vintage something should come up.
Aloha,
Lisa

No vintage forum here (yet) but there is a small one at: http://www.vintagescubasupply.com

How many folks here would be interested in a vintage forum?

Here's an email from the group in the midwest:

"I am planning a vintage scuba dive weekend at Lake Wazee (Quarry), near Black River Falls, Wisconsin, on the weekend of August 27-29. It is a very deep and clear lake, and there is a campground nearby, and hotel rooms. We plan on basing at the campground, and there should be enough spaces for everyone. Some spare tents and sleeping bags might also be available. We also have plenty of scuba tanks.

Here is a link to a web site with more info about the lake:
http://www.co.jackson.wi.us/html/forestry/scuba.htm

Black River Falls is about 3 hours drive from Minneapolis, and 3 1/2 hrs. from Milwaukee.

A group of us "Inland Divers" will be car-pooling from Minneapolis, so transportation can be available for anyone that wants to fly into Minneapolis.

Plans for the dive event are open to suggestion. We hope to have a barbecue and possibly show some 16mm diving related films, as well, in addition to diving. We could certainly have some sort of contest involving vintage gear or ? Thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

The Team"

I think several of us would like a vintage forum. The vintage scuba supply site is very nice.

Well Byron, I did a vintage gear dive yesterday. I dove my USD Royal Aquamaster reg, and j-valve tank, at the Sea Tiger wreck here on Oahu. I dove to 125 ft, and the gear functioned flawlessly. Just wish I had some more vintage buddies here in Hawaii. Aloha Turtleguy
