Hello, Scotsman living in Romania

Hey all, quick intro, had a look around the boards and seems a good forum.

I have only done a few dives, my girlfriend is a dive instructor and has taken me on a few shallower dives in Scotland, have done a couple of discover scubas on holiday and am about to do my open water course in Ibiza (she is working out there at the moment) so I get it almost free. Plan on doing a lot of diving this year and hopefully have my advanced open water soon. I bought all my kit 2 years ago but had a bad motorcycle accident before I got a chance to do my open water but am fit enough now to get back in the water, have done a couple of shallow dives again recently and had plenty of medicals with work. I will have to get a dive medical done before doing the course but am confident there will be no problems.

I recently moved to Romania with work so will be exploring the black sea once I am qualified.

Looking forwards to really getting into diving properly, especially since Ive had to give up biking for a good long while...

Hi Sors, I will take you up on that! I have now completed my advanced open water and really loving diving.

At the moment I am very busy with work and all my kit is still in Ibiza, I should be getting it back in a few weeks tho. My drysuit is still in the UK so may try to get it DHLd to me, I assume it is all drysuit diving here?

When I have my kit back and a free weekend I will get in touch and see if I can come along on a dive or 2

Hi, sorry for the delay, I not read very often this board. The equipment is not a problem, each of us have more than necessary and you can borrow what you need till you have you gear here . The dry suit will not be necesary until the end of October, if you don't plan to dive deeper than 30m in Black Sea. 6mm wetsuit is more than enough. We dive all year round, so it's best to bring your dry suit if you dive with us. Saturday will make a diving trip at 40km from you at Paltinu. If you want, join us to know the guys.

Im not on here often either. Last weekend I was away on a wellsite, thanks for the offer though. This weekend I am preparing for another job, it looks unlikely I will have a free weekend in Romania for a while but when I do I will get in touch and hopefully come meet everyone and do some diving (even if it is cold by then ;-). My girlfriend is just starting a new job (dive instructor) in Gran Canaria so when I get time off work I will be travelling there to stay with her, the diving looks amazing and the centre she will be working for looks great.

Ill pm you my email address so it is easier to keep in touch, if I have a free weekend here I would love to try the diving here and meet some new people.
