I just don't log dives
Hello all,

Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I aM new to diving (NAUI Certified this summer) and have logged only about 15 dives (Mostly shore diving from a beach near my house, a couple of boat dives). I am just trying to learn all i can about Diving. Usually we are out for Lobsters or sea clams.

Most of my equipment is second hand (but in very good condition) and has been fully serviced by my dive shop. I will definately upgrade as i learn and become more experienced.

I look forward to reading and learning all i can on this Site. So far it looks very informative.

Future plans: Looking forward to more advanced certification as i progress. Also, I just booked a trip to Beaches Turks and Caicos. The family can be off having fun, while dad dives to his hearts content!!

welcome aboard!!!!

thanks Yaeg,

I am already working on my 14 yr old daughter. I think she will get a quick resort cert while we are away so we can do a real shallow dive together at least once. If i can get her underwater once, i know i will have a buddy for life!

as far as good spots on the cape.... Lots of sand. Being real new to the sport, i mostly dive w/ my buddy off "town neck beach" in Sandwich (5 min from my house). it has quite a bit or rocks and a ton of clay formations (something to look at and nice hiding spots for decent bugs!). The only other spot i had a chance to dive is off my buddys boat in p-town. In that zone, there is no size constraint for big bugs. we had a great day, dove 2 tanks and filled our limits. Lets just say we ate good that week!

15' max, not great but not too bad. town neck is also on the Bay side so diving off the shore max depth at low tide is only about 13', high tide 20 - 23' max. No current to speak of.

Hey Geoffgill...Fellow Cape Codder here!! This board is fun :cool2:
