Hello everyone,

My name is Jim and I have not been diving in over 5 years. Most of my dives were shore dives or dives while going straight through for an Advanced PADI Open Water cert. So I am really a novice just getting back into diving with little experience. I am now getting back into it as my 12 ( soon to be 13) year old son is starting his PADI Open Water here on Long Island and then I believe I will be taking him to Key Largo the 3rd week of February for his final open water dives. I haven't made reservations yet but that looks like the easiest accessible place for this time of the year. I was just in Melbourne two weeks ago but I never got in a refresher class before I left so it became a fishing vacation.

If anyone has any suggestions / recommendations it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you-

Jim

Hi Jim and welcome to ScubaBoard!

What dates will you be in Key Largo? A group of us will be down there the weekend of the 22nd and maybe you and your son could join us. Best of luck to him as he goes through his OW cert.
