Figured I'd introduce myself. I'm Chris from Florida, right in the middle of 3 pretty big lakes which I don't plan on diving in any time soon. I got certified this year and have been diving about 6 times so far. Looking to do my first ocean dive before the year is out. Don't get many chances to go diving right now (2 young kids and a pregnant wife), but I'm hoping to get more in during 2012. I'm always looking to meet and dive with new people so feel free to contact me and if I can go, we'll go diving!

Welcome to the 'board!

I used to live in Port St John a few years ago. Now I'm in Marysville, WA, a few miles north of Seattle. There are some good dive charters down there in South Florida around the West Palm Beach/Boynton Beach area. A good charter is Loggerhead Dive Charter out of Boynton Beach. Check them out. I visit down there a couple times a year and get out on a dive or two with them while I'm in Florida.

Welcome! we have an active dive community here on the Treasure Coast. And when weather and viz permits we do a lot of awesome beach dives. Advantage is aside from equipment, it's FREE!

hit me up anytime you venture towards this coast!

Thanks Ron! I'll keep those places in mind when I make my way down there.

I love me some free! I have all my gear (save for tanks) and try to find free dives as much as possible! I'll be heading down to Jupiter to dive with a guy I met last weekend, probably in late December. It'll be a trip with Jupiter Dive Center. If you're free and want to go see lemon sharks, you should come along :)

Hi Chris. I too am from Central Florida, Tampa Bay area really. My self and several buddies are almost always in the water. Feel free to pm and you could tag along one day, schedules permitting. We typically dive on weekends/Sunday.

I'm actually from the Tampa area originally. Land O Lakes / Lutz area. Where do you guys normally go diving at?

I work in Lutz, live in Dade City currently. Honestly it depends on the weekend.. Lately it's been Paradise spring and North Fl for cavern diving before we take cave 1.

Hudson Grotto is a close/cheap spot to dive. A lot of people aren't too crazy about it, but I myself find it to be interesting. Almost post-apocalypitc looking.

We live in "cave country" and dive quite often, we currently are planning a "black friday" dive at Hudson Grotto with a couple of others, if you want to join us. Haven't been before but should be fun. In December, we are looking into a trip down to the Keys.

I had heard about the Hudson Grotto but haven't had a chance to go down that way yet. I wouldn't be able to pull of a black friday dive since family will still be in town, but I miiight be able to go out that monday. I just found out today (i'm a dummy) that my dives have to be signed off by an instructor who's with me in order to count towards getting my advanced dive certification. So I'm trying to make sure my instructor can go with me when I dive or dive with a different instructor where ever I end up. Either way, I'd like to get down that way. I'll let you guys know

Hey Sheeper, I'm giving a 1 hr presentation on the 1715 Fleet this Sunday at the Barrier Island Center, just above Sebastian Inlet....you are invited to attend!
