Hi Everybody!

I am absolutely neebie to diving - but eager to learn and the coming summer will hopefully also bring me a PADI certification in Greece.
The main reasons I registered were the stunning, colorful photos I saw in the underwater photography section. I do normal photography
quite seriously and would like to try it under the waves. Unfortunately, living in Switzerland means at least 600km driving before diving
but this wont hold me back:)

Cheers,
Tamas

Definitely, Roxanne!
I already adjusted my camera gear (got rid of my heavy & bulky SLR -> expensive to bring uw) and doing some research. This forum (+wetpixel sometimes) seems to be a great source.

Sounds like you eager to start diving and I'm sure you'll love the photography too. Welcome! :D

Welcome to the board Tamas! There are lots of lakes in Switzerland... Cold fresh water can be fun too.

Welcom to SB :)
A way of 600km to the sea is not far :D I'm at least 1200 km away from the sea... But German lakes are okay, too (better than the north sea xD). Why don't you dive in the swiss lakes?

I like warm+clear water. Okay, the swiss lakes are quite clear, but my guts probably would cry for 3 layers of drysuit:D. I don't know, its probably 5-6 degrees down there even in summer...

Hi and welcome to the board. I'm not a cold water diver anymore however you can get some spectacular images by using your skills in colder water. Lakes tend to limit you to macro unless you get some special lakes with good visibility.
