Hi:

I'm a late 30's guy who got married April '06 & my wife Jami & I did our last 2 check-out dives with Admiralty Dive Center in St. Thomas (we did the first 2 with Marcos at Vortex Springs in Florida); great folks & highly recommended. We were refered by them by our local Scuba Instructor, Marcos Tramell with Parrot Island Divers in Nashville. My best friend also got certified in early '06, so the 3 of us have gotten into diving.

My experience so far is fairly limited; Jami & I've done a 2 tank dive in Puerto Rico with Sea Ventures, and the 3 of us have dived locally in southwestern KY at Dive Cerulean and Pennyroyal Blue Springs; we haven't made it out to Martha's Quarry in TN yet. I was amazed and how many diving opportunities there are in land-locked KY!

We're planned to join a trip Marcos organized for a week-long Spring '07 Bonaire dive trip. Very much looking forward to it.

I've been lurking on your forum for awhile absorbing what I can. I use a Canon A620 camera with underwater case; trying to decide if a G7, Ikelite case, arm & strobe would be worth prying that kind of money loose from my hand. Also gotta figure out what dive lights to buy, since I'm told that in Bonaire you can see a reef a bit & even people without night training dive some at night (or that's been my impression; maybe they're all certified or should be, if so let me know).

Anyway, I'll have questions so I registered so I could post, and saying hello was recommended.

Soooooooooooooooo...hello!:D

Richard.

Welcome, Richard, to ScubaBoard. I'm hoping that the recommendation to register will not be one you regret.

Enjoy!!

Welcome to the ScubaBoard! Diving opportunities only await those that stay dry!!!!
Enjoy!!

Welcome Richard! Be sure and check out the Kentucky Piranha Patrol forum. Lots of divers from central/southern IN/OH and Kentucky who get together and dive. A favorite location is Joe's Falling Rock Park in La Grange, KY. Welcome to SB!

Welcome from 2 states south. Your local diving looks fun, I may make a trip up there next summer.
Our best local diving in central Alabama is

It is fun. Plenty to look at and deep.

Hey y'all! My hubby and I live in the western end of KY... close to Paducah. Always nice to hear of more KY divers. Welcome to the forums!
