I've had my open water since Feb 2003, but a week after I got it, I was laid of at my job. I was out of work for 6 months, and over the course of the winter, I started buying my own gear, and now I am all set for the summer. I have already completed my Nitrox class, just waiting to knock out the dives. I am also taking Peak Performance buoyancy class, equipment specialist class, and signed up for advanced open and night diver. I plan on logging between 50 and 75 dives this summer. Mostly in local quarries, but I have two trips planned as well, one to Daytona and one to Destin. So I will be washing a little bit of salt out of my gear as well.

oh yeah, if anyone ever wants to say hi, feel free to IM me on yahoo or AIM

welcome aboard!

for awesome diving, i would suggest driving south from Daytona to West Palm Beach or Jupiter... for AWESOME shore diving, go further south to Ft. Lauderdale.

it was pretty good. It is a long walk down to the dive site though. Down 64 steps, and then a trail to get to the dock. It is pretty expensive too. 190 bucks for 3 dives. You can not bring your own tanks either, and they dont have Nitrox.

Welcome! You ever go down to Ouachita much or do you do most of your training at Beaver?

looks like I will be doing most of my diving at Quail Run in Rolla, and Mermet Springs in Illinois. I will make the occasional trip down to Tablerock.

Best of luck and and have a great time.
