Hello all. I’m a 35 year + diver who just got two of my adult sons certified. I’ve been trying to get my daughter certified since she lives in Oahu going to school at University of Hawaii. But alas, she’s too busy.
I’ve mostly dove Sonoma coast, Monterey, San Diego, Hawaii, Cozumel and a dive in St. Thomas, VI. My bucket list is Maldives, Philippines, Thailand, Belize, Roatan, and Caymans.
After so many years of just site seeing, I finally picked up a housing for underwater photography. The iPhone housing by Sealife is wonderful but there appears, like many other sports, no end to spending more money on gear. I was always restricted to available funds and not spending the money to get to the next level.
As you can tell. I’m a wuss for cold water. Strapping on an additional 40 lbs of gear is not much fun when you come out of the water and leave behind weightlessness. I’m guilty of enjoying valet diving where a cold beverage and something salty awaits my arrival on-deck.
To each their own, right? I’m not a die heart diver and can’t really call it a sport. But, I do enjoy it and ready to share that experience with the family. With 3 kids in college I just have to find a more affordable way of doing it.
Thanks all. Forgive me, I’m still new to all this and I hope my post goes okay.
