my name is Ken, I don't get to dive too often as I'm not that into cold water and live in the pacific northwest. I was certified back in 99 in Thailand but didn't dive after that for a long time, after a recert, I went to cozumel last january and had a great time. Planning a 3 week trip to the Philippines for next febuary so I'm wondering if any of you scubaboard members will be there at that time and also recomendations from those of you who have been there. thanks

I live in the Pacific Northwest too, and I love diving here. Such a huge variety of marine animals and such a large concentration of them, even compared to tropical areas. I'd suggest trying out diving here, and if it's too cold for you, get a drysuit and drysuit training. It's totally worth it to do cold-water diving. It'll help you build up your experience and skills at home, and it's a very exciting and fun environment.

If you haven't checked it out, look at the Philippines sub-forum. You might find more information there. Or look at the general trips and vacations sub-forum too.

thanks, I looked at the philippines forum, lots to wade through there.
