hello from Oklahoma

My son just got his open water certification and we are in the process of diving local lakes in order to build up his confidence and skills. I'm glad to finally have a diving buddy in the local area. I sometimes go a very long time between dives since I usually dive on business trips to places with warm clear water. Lake diving is not much fun, but I have only been to Elmer Thomas. I would love to hear tips about location and ways to make lake diving more interesting. I'm looking forward to learning from you and hopefully meeting some more divers.

Welcome from Oklahoma. Moore is just up I 40 from one of Oklahomas most notable dive site and thats Lake Tenkiller. I hear from Oklahoma City its about 1 hour and 45 minutes but its well worth the drive. They offer some specatacular bluffs and even a dive site with sunken treasures such as a boat, an airplane, a school bus and recently a helicopter .

If your looking for great dive partners in the oklahoma area be sure to check out a great web site that host to many of Oklahomas divers and its Tulsa Aquanauts (Tulsa, OK) - Meetup It caters to a lot of divers in Oklahoma City and even as far as Joplin with well over 180 members.

One last note is Tenkiller will host a lake clean up and will provide a splendid opportunity to meet new divers its this weekend at Tenkiller State Park. If your interested in a great diving adventure be sure to look in to it
