Hello all,
Newly PADI OW certified dive family (4 of us). Looking forward to a lot of beautiful dives and learning a lot from this site.

thanks,
Chap

Welcome to the forums, along with the rest of your family!

Okinawa, you're turning my green with envy! I can only imagine how beautiful the diving is out there.

Good to see more Okinawa folks here. Make sure to check out the Zen Divers forum for local stuff in Japan. Hope to see you at some of the dive sites around.

Thanks for the welcome, very happy to be here. Lived in San Diego for 20 years, tried to get certified twice, both times Momma got pregnant. Fear of a third child stopped us from certifying until this year LOL

Definitely will check out the Zen Divers forum. Tried to dive today but the weather had other ideas :shakehead:

Thanks again,
Chap

Weather was great today- northern sites were flat as glass, Sunabe had a small swell but still decent viz. Even had the boat out for a few dives in the islands.

Well that's what I get for reading Kadena weather... East/ West Danger! Wife and I drove out to Sunabe Seawall and it didn't seem too bad but by that time it was 1500 and we hadn't rented gear yet :depressed:

Someone told us that it was danger when we got back in late this afternoon. Not the most accurate system in the world- they make mistakes the other way also so make sure you always make the judgement for yourself.
