Hi everyone, Mike here, I've been diving for about two years now, and am currently working on my PADI Rescue Diver course, I hope to complete Divemaster before I rotate out of here. I'll be heading to Seattle from here and can't wait to dive in the Pacific Northwest, although I think I'll have to upgrade from my 3/2 wetsuit to not freeze my nadgers off. These forums are awesome, glad someone put this together.

Hey Mike, been diving about 2 yrs but sounds like you've gone a bit further than me for training (just got my advanced). As for the other recommendations I have to agree, drysuit is in order 4 sure. I've heard of people diving this time of yr in a semi dry on the coast but would.nt be me,
Yep - like to be warm...! Let me know if you want to do dives around whidbey isle...apparently great!

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I agree, I'll have to learn how to use, and then <gulp> purchase a drysuit. I've been looking around these boards to learn about drysuits, and I'll probably wait until I get to Seattle before I take the course, not sure if I want to bother taking it here. I've finally got all my own gear minus tanks (couldn't see the point given how cheap they are on base to rent, plus who wants to PCS with that hassle?) so at the moment I'm pouring my time and monies into becoming a better diver, and work permitting working my way up the PADI ladder with the goal of finishing my Open Water Instructor sooner rather then later. I love diving and I love teaching, and ideally once I get out of the Navy I'd like to teach SCUBA. Thanks again for all the welcomes.
