Hello, scubaboard. I've been lurking around and visiting the chat room pretty regularly so I figured I might as well drop in and say hello.

I've yet to cert but will be getting my OW here in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I will then start hitting the local quarries and start saving my pennies for a dive trip or more importantly some gear.

With the topic of gear comes about a million questions. I've talked, read, asked, looked, and at each and every step I become more befuddled..LOL. Choosing gear is difficult to say the least. Therefore, I've decided to queary the SB community and see what you think. I'll be osting links to different survey's. If youd be so kind to take a few minutes to answer some questions I'd appreciate it.

Anyway, its good to be here and I look forward to gleaning as much information from you folks as possible. I also look forward to bumping into some of you at various dive spots here in Ohio.

I thought this seemed familiar...LOL. I was thinking about doing this a week ago..and I did. Sorry about the double hello post...LMAO.

Welcome to the group. I too am from NW Ohio. A little town called Gibsonburg to be exact. I escaped though to more temperate weather here in Baton Rouge. Never dove the quarries around there uetm but I do have some family that have. White Star quarry is in my old home town and Gilboa quarry is around there too. I have been told they are both good quarry dives.
