folks, I'm new at this but REALLY pumped about this diving thing. I've completed my OW and AOW but that's it. I live in northern NJ and looking for places in warmer water to do some specialty courses...I don't know anyone but very much welcome tips for the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, Florida, Alabama, etc. I travel extensively for work so getting there isn't an issue.
I'm 40, live in northern NJ, and welcome hearing from anyone who wants to dive (and can live with me being new at this). Even if you're in a different state, I might soon be there (I'm writing this from Chicago).

Thanks and look forwarding to seeing and learning and doing more!
Steve

Congrats on your new cert., always remember " it's better to be safe than sorry" and you never take your last breath under water............Welcome!!!!

Welcome to Scuba Board, whodunit68. Congratulations on your certification.

Dive NY is a social group on SB for divers in and around the metro area, yes, New Jersey is included, we have NJ members. It's only 4 weeks old and we've dived every weekend for the past three weekends.

If you're in the Boston area, we'll be there this coming weekend diving with some Boston SB'ers or you can join us Oct 5th for our Leisure Sunday Wreck dive. It's a very easy going group and because of them, I actually have local dive buddies.

Follow instructions in the link below to join.

Treywilly - You're welcome as well, heck, everyone is welcome to come dive!

Whodunnit - I don't dive... yet. - here doing some research - but here is a fun interactive site promoting a free day of scuba diving off the islands of Turks and Caicos that's worth checking out... click

welcome aboard

I want to thank you all for the warm welcome. IT's great to be part of the diving community. I already feel it and I'm all of 6 dives in (5 more this weekend for my PADI AOW!). Capt Walt, I might just come check you out. Blankstage...I never thought I'd do it but am SO glad I did.
trey - thanks mate, I hope not to take my last breath underwater...ScubaSamantha, I will absolutely check out the group - thanks!
Floridanewbe - smell ya later!

I'm about to go on a biz trip to Chile/Argentina/Brazil and have to stay the weekend. I'm thinking of bringing my dive gear...I'll be in the big cities so if anyone knows a good shop/place to go, I'm all ears.
Thanks.
