Hello all! Jason and Julie Westby from Menahga (Park Rapids) Minnesota here. I (Jason) have been checking scubaboard out ever since we decided to become divers. What a wonderful resource! Julie and I have been diving together since June of 2011. We have been married for 20 years, work together at the same machine shop, and are now dive buddies. (I really couldn't think of anyone I would rather dive with!) :) We just got home from Roatan, Honduras where we had the opportunity to dive a few sites off of West Bay and Mary's Place on the south side of the island. Roatan was absolutely beautiful and is now at the top of our "go-back" list of vacation spots. (But there are so many other places in the world to see it will probably be a while!) We also love to snorkel and have have even done some freshwater snorkeling around the Park Rapids area. We love to talk scuba and are always excited to hear of other people's experiences. Drop us a line! L8R J&J

Julie & Jason,

Welcome to Scubaboard; there is a little something for everyone. It is so nice to have such a great dive buddy to be able to dive Roatan with. My GF doesn't dive, but my daughter does, so it is hit -n- miss with me; sometimes I dive with my daughter (preferred) and sometimes with that other single dude on the boat.

Here in Key Largo, we are waiting for the ice to get here. What's a Frozen 'Rita without ice??? :D :D :D Someone pass me a lime por favor?

Welcome to the board! One of my dive buds is from your state. He says diving is available there year round (as long as you have a chain saw and drysuit :D). Of course he didn't appreciate the adventure of ice diving while he was there either:dontknow:.

Thanks all for the warm welcome!!

Diveprof....I'm sure we will have to experience ice diving at some point... But definitely NOT on top of the priority list!! There is some neat freshwater diving to do and even the snorkeling can be fun here!

NetDoc... We are looking at the Keys pretty hard for our next trip. It looks beautiful there!
