Long time reader that finally got tired of the ads :P

I got PADI Open water diver back in June of 08' with my dad in Monroe, LA.

We went to lake Degray for our open water dives. Now my wife and oldest child are looking into getting certified.

Jim Baldwin from this board actually certified us, I know he will remember me as the short guy that kept complaining about having to wear that very uncomfortable snorkel :)

Glad to have you. Flash back time! I was raised in Arkansas and our family used to camp on Degray Lake when I was a kid. Congratulations on your certifications.

Richard.

Welcome to the board, DeGray is a great diving lake, and is also close to lake Ouachita, a little closer to me and with all its islands, a great vacation.

Late summer, DeGray is the place for freshwater jelly fish. A friend and I stopped hunting supper, to just drift with hundreds of jelly fish for over an hour. . . very calming and relaxing to watch them pulse from just above the thermocline up to the surface and sink back down.
