Greetings from Lanzarote. I'm new here, but looking forward to chatting with you all. I dive every week all year round, so you could say I'm an addict!

Hi

I'm thinking about going diving in Lanzarote. I've been diving in tererife a few times. Can you suggest any good places to dive?

thanks

I can Zano.

Shore Dives:
Playa Chica, Puerto del Carmen (Blue hole, cathedral)
Charco del Palo (The Steps and Baldie's cave)
Playa Flamingo, Playa Blanca

Boat Dives
Rabat wreck, Arrecife
Los Lobos Reef
Calero Tuna boat wreck, Puerto Calero

That lot should keep you going for a holiday! Nitrox is available, but as much of the diving here is 30 meters of more, air may be a better option. The two shallower dives are Los Lobos and Playa Flamingo.

Thanks for the info. Are there any areas that have good diving near by and isn't too built up, assuming such a place exists. Also if there is such a place can you suggest any good places to stay and dive schools?

Sorry to ask so many questions, but as a local your the best person to ask.

Thanks loads

Zano

Thanks for the welcomes!
@zano There are no built up places here! The north of the island is the quietest part. If you like rural fishing villages, then search for accommodation in Arrieta and Punta Mujeres.
Dive schools? Aquatis in Costa Teguise are my favorite, followed by Calypso in the same town, assuming you want to speak English. If you can speak Spanish then there are several others.
Hope this helps.

Yep, very nice diving, I worked in lanzarote for a while, with calablanca and calypso.
The best dive I did was the playa flamingo one, shallow and I never expected it to be that nice, it actually got dark because of
the huge amount of fish!!
is the grouper still in Playa chica?

@pjerl Depends on which resort you are in. Costa Teguise I would recommend Calipso Diving and Aquatis. In Puerto del Carmen Safari, and Playa Blanca Rubicon Diving.

@duskdiver Yep there are still several large grouper around the blue hole in Puerto del Carmen.
