Good evening, every one, I'm new here. I live in Lake City and I like to Snorkel and Dive in the Springs in and around this Town and Florida. I am not a cave diver, although I have a desire to take some cavern course's and learn some about that environment, after all you can't hang out that close for so long and not be interested.
My last Dive was last weekend, I dove at Troy Spring with My Dad. Took about 6 months off a dive or three before that, and before that time it was every weekend at various locations for a few years even in the winter. The winter in my opinion is the best time to dive springs. I took time off when my dive buddy passed, and have not found a new one yet so I dive with Family when I can. We live all over so it is difficult some times.
I have never been diving in the ocean or the gulf, and before this summer is over I would like to do that. I hear there is a restaurant in South Florida you have to dive into, that would be a great story. The reason for the "No Ocean Diving" is, I prefer Freshwater. Taste great if it gets in your mouth, well some times. There have been a few that the water did not taste so great like Hospital Hole. Very cool dive though especially as you pass through the Hydrogen Sulfide Layer. Next time I am taking a camera with me, I would like to get a photo of my buddy and myself while I am partially submerged in it up to my mask. It would look like you are sinking into milk. My friend Jack and I have an on going argument at what depth the layer is at, so a trip back is required.
Any way, if you have questions, ask them. If you just want to correspond, say hi I will try to check every day or so in the evenings.
