Hello all,

I just recently moved from GA to TN (Knoxville) and am not only looking for new places to dive but new dive buddies as well. I am still fairly new to diving with just a handful of dives under my belt. If there is anyone in the area that can point the way to new dive spots in the area or would be willing to take a newbie under their wing for a bit to show me the local dive spots it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello Josh

I usually dive Loch Low Minn down the road from you in Athens, TN. also there is the Philadelphia also down the road from you. They are both quarries and Loch Low Minn is a better dive site. Martha's is in Nashville and is almost to big but a fun place to go.

Thanks for the offer. Couple of questions. Do you usually do 1 or 2 tank dives at Philly? Just trying to get a budget (like thats possible with diving) since money is still a bit tight at the moment. Thans again.

when the water is still cold (under 75) i usually do 2 shorter dives on 1 tank.
in the summer its not unusual to do 3-1 hour dives (thus 3 tanks). 2 tanks ususally suffice for a full day tho for most people. tanks there are $10 each with $8 refill (i think). so if u got 1 tank, had Billy refill it at the barn for you it would be $18 for the day plus its $12 entry fee for the day.

we'll be diving this weekend if you are interested in coming down
speaking of blowing the budget - i just ordered another 5mil this morning to have for this weekend :dontknow:

Thank you for the break down. Yeah budgets suck especially when it comes to diving. Congrats on the new 5mil. There are just too many cool things that you just "have" to have :scubadive: This weekend probobly won't work because we have family coming to town for a night or two. Possibly in a couple weeks though. I will let you know.
