Hi all! I'm an open water diver who has been certified since 2007 with about 15 dives. I got certified in Ko Samui Thailand, I was on a work trip and tacked a few extra days onto the end. I ended up getting bored on Ko Samui and walked to the scuba shop and was able to get it all worked so I could get my open water. I obviously haven't done many dives since then, but in the last 1.5 yrs I had the opportunity to dive in the GBR, Croatia, and BVI. Big goal of mine is to dive in the galapagos islands, I know I have a lot of work to do to get there. So I've been looking to take my diving more seriously.
No one in my family (wife + 3 daughters) has any interest in diving. So, I fly solo to go diving and need to balance family with diving while on trips. For instance, when we were in the BVI we were there for 10 days on a chartered sailboat, but I only got 4 dives in...
I have an upcoming trip to Florida and the caribbean. My mother in law has paid for a cruise for the entire family, so that should be fun. During the cruise I have some dives planned. I'm going to stay a few extra days and do my AOW down in Key Largo. That trip should be about 15 dives.
The week before and over Labor day I plan to be Cozumel to get after some diving. I'm going by myself to MX and I should be there about 10 days.
And Christmas we are going to visit my parents, who live in Tonga. We probably won't go to Tonga, but will spend almost 3 weeks in New Zealand. I'll obviously get my extra dose of nitrogen during that trip as well. All in all, hoping for about 50 more dives in 2025.
I'm just starting to collect some gear. I got an Atomic B2 setup and peregrine tx w/ AI. I think I also got a 3mm wetsuit.
Anyway, if you're out and about, say hi! When I'm diving I'm without my family, so I'm always looking for good people to hang out with.
