Hello from Calgary

Hello everyone,
I just got my OW a couple of weeks ago. I doubt very much that I will be ice diving so I hope to possibly meet some of you in warmer climates. Next planned trip is Maui in Jan/Feb. I have been browsing the forum off and on for a while. There is a lot of good info here.

Welcome aboard. Calgary sounds good for speed skating, but when it's about diving Maui surely sounds better then icediving.

Thank you ScubaBB and Crush. Yes Maui sounds just right I think. I have no intention of ice diving. None of my friends are into diving so I hope to meet a few people in the Calgary area that I can go diving with to warmer climates in the winter / spring / fall. I will scope out some of the clubs. Thanks for the heads up

Hey Crush... correct me if I am wrong... isn't Waterton a very cold lake? Like fed from a glacier or something. I really want to be a warm weather/water diver. But thanks for thinking of me.

No, no, no. Minnewanka is COLD. Emerald Bay in Waterton is positively tropical by comparison.
