Hello and welcome!

Nice pics ... it looks as though you are quite experienced with your cam underwater.

I'm planning a trip down to Panglao in August - what are your favourite sites in the area? I've heard quite a bit about Balicasag, so I intend to get out there a few times ...

Look foward to seeing more of your photos!

Hello,

Thank you for compliment. I am not yet so experienced photographer but i have a pretty nice camera Canon Powershot S95 with its housing.
Unfortunately i didnt have a chance to dive in Panglao but i was motorbiking a lot in Bohol which is just a bridge to across. Panglao/Bohol is very nice place.
I saw Tarsiers, Chocolate hills, Danao Adventure park, Butterfly farm etc.

Few stories.
Hot Chili Asia: Panglao and beautiful Alona beach
Hot Chili Asia: Bohol island and Simple Butterfly conservation center and famous Chocolate hills

I was travelling with other finnish guy over 3 months across Asia. He was diving in Panglao before me. Here is a short story in his blog.
Direction Asia: Diving day at Panglao

If you´re interested to see more of my photos. I have a blog with photos in address Hot Chili Asia

ps. Now i am taking Dive Master course in Boracay, Philippines.

Regards,

Petri

Sweet info, Petri - I'm contemplating going to the Hills and checking out those little tarsiers ... but I had no idea there was a butterfly conservation area there as well. I'm sure the gf will like to see that, too!

So once completed your DMT, will you stay in Asia? Put it to use and find some work? How long do you intend on remaining on the road?

I am sure that your gf likes those attractions as well as mine! I have complete stories about attractions in Bohol in my blog.

Yes. I am planning to get DM in use here. Also planning to take DI course after DM. Here is not easy to find a work as an DM because locals do it here. I havent set a limit for my staying here. We´ll see first how things goes here. Wish me a luck !

So you live in Taipei? Here are lots of tourists especially from South Korea but i guess from Taiwan also. Your language could be useful here.
My asset is russian language because of many russian tourists.

Yes, I checked out your blog, and I showed my gf the pics as well. Like I said - we had no idea there was a buterfly conservation area, so we are sure to check that out, too!

Yeah - you'll surely be able to apply your Russian language skills in DM and instructor work. The more languages you know, the easier it is to work. I was diving with an Itlaian instructor on Koh Tao, and he spoke 6? languages? EUropeans (regularly) have that advantage.

Hahah, no - I have NO language abilities ... I'm Canadian, and my French isn't even all that great. I've learned a bit of Chinese over the past 3 1/2 years, but not enough to get me any further than ordering a cup of coffee ...

If I were to actually apply myself, I don't really see the advantages given dive instruction ... Chinese (for the most part) don't dive, and if they do, they're likely from HK (Cantonese ...) - Taiwan is mostly Mandarin.

I've had my eye on two other dive spots in PI - any info regarding them? One is Scubic (caves, wrecks ...), and the other Malapascua (Threshers). I'd like to get down there again (AFTER my Panglao trip) ... maybe in the winter ...

Butterfly conservation center is small place but very interesting and guide manage to tell all details in interesting way. You can be middle of all butterflies and take those on your hand. They fell a "sleep" when you put butterfly to your hand on side position. Some butterflies has chocolate smell (feromine). After that we went to chocolate hills by motorbike so for some reason i felt to eat chocolate. :D

I dont know Scubic but i have heard that in Malapascua are nice dive sites. Here in Boracay sites you can see sharks, turtles, eals, softlip fishes, tunas etc. I will add to my blog photos from dive sites here.

Today i began to keep Dive master diary. There is information about DMC.

If you´re interested. Also i add new forum here with name "Dive master diary".
