Hello everyone, I just ran across this site looks pretty interesting, just started my dive classes here in Alpena, Michigan. - figured I should take lessons now (always wanted to since high school) because we've been designated as a underwater preserve and the price is bound to go up

Wondered when someone from Alpena would show up. You live next to one of the most fun places to dive I know. We were up there over Memorial Day. Dove with Randy Johnson. Good man to get to know, after you're certified. He knows all the wrecks and has quick boats to get you to them now.

Anyway, enjoy your classes. You're gonna' LOVE diving!!!

lot of wrecks around here, but until NOAA started putting mooring bouys near them they were hard to find.

I got hooked when I was about 12, the schooner / barge Red Bottoms is in front of my parents house in 8 feet of water used to spend the whole summer skin diving there.

I find Thunder Bay island pretty interesting
