My wife kids and I went to Hawaii last winter and I tried scuba for the first time. I was blown away and wanted to get certified right away. The instructor I dove with suggested I learn in Alaska rather than Hawaii due to the different gear and conditions I would be dealing with. I took his advice, and over the past year have set myself up with gear, open water diver card and dry suit diver card. I am a commercial fisherman and have lived here, on the water, my whole life and had no idea of all the amazing stuff just under the surface.
