Greetings everyone, I am new to diving and the board and very glad I stumbled upon it... I have a question regarding open water certification dives. I took the classroom and pool lessons in Toronto, Ontario while I was visiting family and I'm now trying to find somewhere in the Boston area (where I now live) to do the open water dives. Can anyone recommend a specific shop or instructor? Or does anyone know of cheap/warm destination to do the open water dives... Any help would be great. Thanks,

Stephanie

I can help with your question but Welcome aboard. I hope you enjoy the board.

Welcome to the board. I can't help you with where to get your opern water dives, but just sit tight some one in here will have that answered for you.

and a WARM welcome from Sunny ARIZONA

Glad to have you here :balloon:

I live in Lowell right now and there are plenty of other Ma divers on here. I haven't used any shops in your area, but I know they exist. As far as diving goes-CAPE ANNE RULES!!! Awsome shore dives and there are a few charters in the area.
Welcome again and enjoy
Doug

The closest shop I know of near you is United Divers in Somerville. Some friends of mine were recently certified there, and they thought it was good. http://www.uniteddivers.com/

My favorite in the area is South Shore Skindivers in Weymouth, on Rt. 3A. I got my Open Water training from them back in the mid 80s. http://www.southshoredivers.com/

I've also gotten some good training from Mass Divers in Natick.

Good luck with the open water dives, and let us know how it goes. Also, there are a number of us in the area who dive regularly, so if you ever need a dive buddy, just say so!

Thanks for all the replys. I'll check out the somerville shop for sure and keep you updated on how everything goes. Hey, maybe i'll be diving with you guys soon,

Steph
