Here is our story
Donna (Wench) and I (Pyrate) met 10 years ago and we have a deep love for anything saltwater. Beach Bums, yes of course. It is truly an addiction for us. If I cannot get to the ocean at least 4 times a year I have withdrawal and slip into depression. JK
I was born in Virginia where the beach was mostly the outer banks with yearly trips to Florida. Donna was Born in the Baton Rouge area of Louisiana.
We met in 2000 after a Job took me to New Orleans.
We started dating shortly thereafter. Then discovering the beaches of Florida's panhandle we found our selves over there about every other month.
We took up saltwater aquariums, and learned to propagate corals and raised seahorses. We joined the local Marine Aquarium Society and learned as much as we could about the animals living in reefs. Our tanks were very successful.
In 2005 we lost everything in Katrina. My company moved us to Dallas. There we became beach bums in exile.
It took us almost three years to recover. Our first major purchases after we got on our feet were new cars. Donna drives a 2009 Challenger RT, and I own a 2009 Charger RT. We sport Pirate themes on the cars and show them at local charity shows. We have been Nationally recognized by Dodge on their Hemi Highway page and featured in Rides Magazine.
Two years ago, Donna won a trip to Playa with her company. We did a beginner diving course with Eagle Ray Divers in Cozumel and have fallen in love with diving.
It is fun to go into the world of the animals we have raised in tanks for years.
So far we have done 4 total dives, all beginner style dives. We are going down to Cozumel for an entire week and do a full open water course.
