My name is Carlos and I'm from The Bronx , NYC. I've had an interest in scuba for quite awhile, but never thought I would actually do it.
Recently, I drove by a scuba shop here in NYC and decided to go inside and ask questions. Well, that turned into taking a discover scuba class and now I'm excited to get started.
I passed the Padi online course and will be taking classes in April. I have lots of questions that hopefully some of y'all will answer.

Hi again.... Finally, I'm certified !! I did my check out dives at Dutch Springs, PA. It was an amazing experience !
My first real dive will be at Epcot Divequest followed by Nassau, Bahamas next month. Can't wait !

Hi Carlos.

there is an entire forum related to divers from the region: Dive NY

In you User CP you can chose to join, and then introduce yourself. Select "Permision Groups" and there is a selection of forums that you can chose to join, if desired. Lots of new friends available in DNY, many who are quite familiar with Dutch Springs, plus many more exciting dive sites!

Congrats!
Take from a former Divequest DM
EPCOT Divequest will be an interesting dive one that you will enjoy and if you take friends or family they'll be able to watch you through the glass. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1311700516.953267.jpg

Do you know where in Nassau you'll be diving?
If not then I highly recommend Stuart Coves.

Have fun!

Congratulations on the certification Carlos. I second Jim's suggestion to join DNY. They are a great group of people and they dive all the time (Dutch and everywhere else) so you can almost always have a dive buddy.

Welcome, Carlos.

Congrats on your OW certification. Have always wanted to do the Epcot dive whenever my little nieces or nephews are visiting Epcot but the schedule never came together. We have members who dive Dutch regularly as well as the NJ & LI boats and some shore diving too.

Yes, pop into the DNY forum so we can get to know you. We hang out in the chat thread during the day and it's a way to get to know the different personalities in DNY...and there are many...:rofl3:

Several per member in some cases :rofl3:

You see my point, Carlos. ScubaSteve has MANY personalities and not all of them are ready for prime time viewing....:rofl3:
