I'm (finally) signing up to post here. Great community.

I've been lurking here since 2006, when I was still in the Army, and finally got certified in 2009 after I got out. While I was overseas, I spent MANY hours here soaking up knowledge about gear, styles and diving knowledge, and I continue to do so.

Currently am a NAUI DM working in a dive shop and, with any luck, will earn my full Instructorhood in May.

Recently went down the GUE path with Fundamentals and discovered THE diving system that suits me to a "T". Maybe it was the prior-military thing, I dunno. I'll be posting a report soon. It was literally life-changing with regards to diving for me.

On the other hand, (the complete opposite of GUE/"DIR"), I also REALLY enjoy "vintage diving" and am putting together a stable of old-school gear, including my namesake, a Voit 50 Fathom regulator, and a set of USD triple 44s, among others. I love the simplicity and ease of vintage diving, and find it a nice bookend to GUE's style of diving.

Hope to be able to contribute to the larger community.

Mike
