Today I had the pleasure of going on a dive with a college science professor to study the Hellbender Salamanders in Northeastern Pennsylvania. They are the largest of all salamanders and can get to be over 2 feet long. We went to a few deep holes in a local creek and I got to observe 4 today, they breath through there skin (not sure about the details of that), never need to surface for air, and they eat crawfish. Guess thats why you don't find them in Louisiana them Cajuns get upset with anything messing with the crawfish...hehehe... What a awsome dive, it wasn't deep, but it was a wonderful learning experience and so cool to be able to just watch these rare creatures in there own element. Just thought I would share that with anyone whose interested...:)

Friggin' two foot salamanders that breathe through their skin?

Someone need to irradiate one of those bad boys, and create Pennsylvania's SALAMANZILLA!!!!
