I am contemplating building out a dedicated rig for when I dive dry. Who makes the heaviest backplate (standard size)? I’m ok with established companies or small custom makers but want it to be someone who is actually in business, so a DSS recommendation would not work for me (unless you have one to sell). I saw mention of someone in MS who at all me time made some but could not find contact info.

it looks like Hollis steel late is 5.5lbs and that seems to be the heaviest I have seen so far

12 pounds stainless Czech Republic, no details

What's wrong

with your fingers

Order two or three cheap ones and stack them together and then bolt them together.
You could get 12 lbs with two, or 18 lbs with three.
It would cost you $200 or $300 if you bought $99 plates.
That’s an idea I had not thought of. Your prices may be off for “cheap” plates, eBay and Ali express are probably less than 1/2 that

I have a hunk of 1/2” (12.5 mm) stainless that you can have if you want to pick it up. You could make a 25 lb one with that!
Fab up your own. Good luck trying to figure out how to cut slots in something that thick.
I saw someone here posted something about a custom brass backplate that weighed over ten lbs.

You could fit this: XS Scuba V Weight Pouch in the groove with maybe 3-4 lbs of lead shot in it.

I know someone who took two standard plates and used them together.
