I'm pretty psyched! First trip up there.

We're booked on a Sat morning charter to hit the King and the Wetmore and other than that we'll be shore diving in the Tubs.

Any words of wisdom from some cagey veterans?

The water temp above the thermocline (at about 60 ft on the Niagara II) was 67 F yesterday. It was 68 F at the Lighthouse shore dive. Diver's Den

There's lots to see on the Wetmore, you'll have a good time.

I like the King, too, she's pretty broken up in the shallower water, but gets more intact at depth. The bow load markings (IIIV, IX, X) are still visible at 80'+ feet, but I see you're OW, so that's probably deeper than you want to go, plus it's past the thermocline ;). Diver's Den

67?!? Wow. I was told Toby was considered cold water diving year round? I guess they're talking about below the thermocline...

And ya - I was told the King bottoms out around 90' - but there's still lots to see @ 60' and up.

Yes, there's this brief little window in the dive year where the surface temps (above the thermocline) get comfortable. But these surface temps can be quite changeable, depending on wind direction. And what depth the thermocline occurs can change, too

Here's NOAA's website with surface water temps, click on buoy 45137 for surface temps in the middle of Georgian Bay. It's warmer at the coastline.
