for those of you who enjoy diving in warm waters to look at the reef fish, i've got some bad news to impart. the govt has finally documented the decline of reef fish off hawaii; it looks like about 86% of the reef fish stocks are at below desirable levels, with about 75% of the total reef fish stock either in critical condition depleted. i'm sure this probably isn't a big shocker for those of you who have been diving hawaii regularly for a number of years--but for newbs like me, this sucks! for more info see: Hawaiian Islands' reef fish declining, study finds - Los Angeles Times
