i need some info, please.

my husband has a business trip planned for hawaii this summer and we'd like to extend it and make it a dive vacation. over the last couple of years we have really gotten into staying at dive resorts not huge resorts that might have a dive op. are there any resorts that cater to divers that you can recommend? it doesn't matter which island since once we're there getting to another island is easy and a quick plane ride.

I have only been to Kona and Oahu - Dove both - No dive resorts that I am aware of.

Make your reservations for lodging and diving separately.

Check the Hawaii forum - lots of members that live on island there!

We've been researching for an upcoming trip. Plan on mostly diving around Kona. Seems like the best bet is to rent a condo or something.

Was on Oahu and the Big Island last month on our annual trip. We've also done time on Maui on previous trips. Essentially all three islands are dive resorts. Just about all the operators will pick you up at your hotel, take you diving and return you to the hotel. Depending on condo location they will pick you up there too. Some hotels have little shops in them. But, those are mainly customer contact places, not full dive shops.

Or, if you have a rental car you can get to just about all the dive launch places pretty conveniently. BUT, be aware traffic on the main roads of both islands is horrible. If you come from a big Stateside city you probably won't notice because it isn't any worse than most places down there. Most of the dive boats go out early in the morning so you can avoid most of the heaviest traffic, at least one way.

If you want more just PM.
