I have been monitoring the sea temperatures off the Kona coast in preparation of a shore diving trip this September. The temperatures have been above normal.

We haven't noticed an increase in the water temps yet around the Kona Coast. Most recently, water temp was 83.

"Forecasts" are for increased temps but we will have to wait to see.

Here's a site that can help local divers report areas of bleaching....... water temps on the south shore of Oahu have been 82 the past few weeks and I did notice a few patches of light bleaching yesterday on our shallow reefs:

We did two boat dives yesterday 9/14/19, just north of Honokohau Harbor (Kona, HI) and spotted light coral bleaching at both dive sites. Water temp was 82-83 degrees.
