Yes, I have looked at the black but for only a couple hundred dollars more, I am assured of getting a reliable computer that takes commonly found batteries.

Not to mention service and support from a company with one of the best track records out there, versus from a company that's just a hair less useless than Suunto or Scubapro in the service/support department.

I think the bad Suunto service and support is a regional thing. It is apparently quite good here in Australia. It depends on the distributor.
