Recently reinstalled EdiverLog which is the software for the i770R. Multiple issues here. Windows says the file is not safe to download, and not save to install. Same thing for the USB drivers. You'd think on a $1000+ dive computer they would have software that was up to date with Windows and not be tossing out warnings. Also sadly the interface still looks like Windows 3x

Doesn't it have bluetooth? Have you tried to sync with the Diverlog+ app on a phone?

Honestly, the stock software for most dive computers suck. Shearwater, Suunto, Aqualung, etc. As runsongas said, these are not software development companies. Just use a third party app and you'll get much better UI, stability, and functionality.

I would have thought Aqualung was a large company.
It was. It's now a subsidiary of a much larger one and it has subsidiaries of it's own. It's owned by a private equity firm now.

It was a subsidiary of a very large multinational industrial conglomerate (Air Liquide). It was sold off to a private equity firm.

There are exceptions, But most hardware companies typically suck on the software side of life. The camera manufacturers are a good example of this. Leica, Canon, Hasselblad, Nikon, Sony… All are big. All are tech companies. All make great cameras. But how many of them have any software worth more than a passing glance?

camera companies are dinosaurs compared to say nvidia, which has pretty good API support for CUDA

Also Trek bicycles are reptilian compared to Bugatti Veyron.
