I am planning a liveaboard dive trip in Maldives in a few months' time and in light of the tragic incident with MV Baani Adventurer, I want to ask if anyone has dived with MV Amba and what their experience is like?

If you have any suggestions for a better liveaboard, please let me know. Any liveaboard with a good track record and which places safety as the number one priority - that I want to know.

Thanks!

Hi
Cannot comment on this liveaboard but this year will see my return to Sea Spirit - Maldives Scuba Tours. This will be our 8th visit to the Maldives and our 3rd liveaboard and this is the 1st time we've booked with the same liveaboard.

In the UK they are seen as No 1 and many guests make return visits. On our trip there were a couple who have done the trip twice before and a couple who did Galapagos through MST and were so impressed they booked the Maldives and this year 3 guests from 2007 are booked to return in 2008.

My request at the start of the holiday was Mantas and Whalesharks and we had Mantas on nearly every dive...it was Manta soup! And yes we had the pleasure of the 'big spotty fish' on the trip; can't be bad.

You might want to look on some of the UK dive forums and see what info you can pick up.

Regards and happy diving
Vicky
