Dangit! I ordered a "standard" 12' of webbing for a new harness for my BP. Hit the slots with a dremel tool in an attempt to avoid the harness fraying that made replacing it an issue in the first place. I then installed the harness. WHOA! I could make it fit in my street clothes - barely - and only if I didn't properly thread the waist buckle. Drysuit and undies? Forget it. So I removed it and measured it against the old one. It's about a foot shorter. Huh. I didn't think I was that big, but maybe I should join the ScubaBoard fitness challenge after all

What a drag!!

When I did mine, I think I cut off probably 3' total. I didn't measure the total before starting the stringing, but I've heard most recommend the standard starting point is 15'.
Know any "small" divers?

I can sympathize on that point. Tried my dry suit on Friday and it felt like I was in a straight jacket. Fit fine in February. I need a new secretary who doesn't keep chocolates on her desk. Good wake up call as Im back on training regimen.Good Luck.

I cut it off twice and it is STILL TOO SHORT!

Measure once, cut twice, buy more material.

Actually - the drysuit finally fits - sent the "custom" suit back for one last try at reducing it to human proportions. It worked and fits great - and I can still reach everything :D It's the new webbing that's too short and restricts my movement.

There is a reason I include a minimum of 18' in my harness kits. ;0

Many don't need it all and end up with a spare belt, others get 21'.

"Ones size fits all" is a myth!

Heheh. Well, if I don't find any while I'm in Seattle, I'll be contacting you when I get home. I've searched all the fabric stores, upholstry shops and tent-n-tarp makers in Anchorage without success. The LDS here kept promising to order it, never did, so I finally ordered what I got along with some other stuff. Now it's too late to get some mailed before I leave for America

Yeah, I know. It's an Alaska joke. Sorry for the confusion :D

It is a Hawaii joke too
