I had the pleasure of seeing Bob perform live several times in Jamaica back in the 70s. Once on the Negril cliffs, with mabe 30 people there. He very casually did a guitar only solo of 'Wait in Vain' that still haunts me. I knew Rita, who used to spend weeks at a small place on the beach in Negril when it was mostly just locals and some of us counterculture people, before any of the clubs, before the tourists. Paradise lost. Peter (Tosh) MacIntosh, another Westmoreland regular, was a very smart and funny man with an ascerbit wit and no tolerance for fools.
The diving there was still spectacular, four decades ago. Only one dive operation, in an open tiki hut on the north end of the 7 mile beach.
