Hi Everyone

I have a new Halcyon Eclipse. I installed an Air2 and it seems to work pretty well except I find that breathing off the Air2 I need to turn my head to the left or hold it with one hand to stretch the corrugated rubber tube/hose between the oral inflator mouthpiece and the bladder. The LP inflator hose is not the problem.

I would like to add about 4-6" so I could easily breathe off the Air2 without having to hold it or stretch it ... one less thing to worry about in an incident.

My LDS called Halcyon and asked if there was a longer hose available. The rep said no, they are all the same stock size.

Has anyone modified the Eclipse? Any tips as to parts or procedures?

Many thanks!
-Bryan

you put an AIR2 on a Halcyon Eclipse? Surely you are joking, right?

I just found a similar thread from last July with some answers ... looks like the solution is to substitute elbow/hose from another manufacturer and can be done easily.

Thanks to all those who responded.

ooh, I bet you could paint it a pretty color, add some extra clips to it, and maybe sew on a pocket too!

Although I am not a fan of air2's nor did Halcyon have in mind the air2 when they made the BP/wing but it can be modified.

A friend of mine did this by purchasing an inflator hose from DiveRite's Recwing. You'll have to ask you LDS to order an inflator from DiveRite.

Here is why I am not a fan of air2's. Most people can not control their bouyancy when breathing & sharing air at the same time. Also, most people do not practice using the air2. A less expensive route and IMO a better route is to purchase a 5'/7' hose for your primary reg and a short hose along with a bungee for your alternate.

Maybe he did the AIR-2 because he couldn't find a snorkle-keeper with blue H's on it to stow his octo?

BMW, the guys are having some fun at your expense, but it's just terrible irony that you would purchase a BP/W from a company that is probably the most anti inflator-hose type backup in the world, and you are asking to put one on there.

Ah well... Hope it works out for you.
