Never been but sailed past a few times and it looks ok, not sure I like the way those bungalows are arranged though. The diving around the area is very good. We had 20 mantas in a train, good pelagic action and the corals were recovering a bit from EL Nino.

The other half is a diver too!!!!!!!!!!
Did you go to Hakuraa as planned? I am going in September (when the island re-opens after rebuilding due to the tsunami) and have not been able to find out any information on the dive school.
If you have any info on the dive school that was operating before the closure I'd be really interested - I think there's a fair chance it will be the same operators when it re-opens.
