About the Tolten:

Torpedoed by U-404 and sunk in March of 1942, the 280 ft Chilean freighter Tolten lays in 95ft of water about 10 miles off the Seaside Heights beach. After the war the wreck was wire dragged to reduce its potential as a shipping hazard. As is typically the case, the bow and stern comprise most of what is left of the structure of this wreck. The center section is pretty flat, but contiguous, making for simple navigation. The Tolten is purported to be a pretty good lobster and fish producer. (I’ve never read a trip report that didn’t include mention of a good haul!)

About the Trip:

Still some spots left on this trip, which leaves at 7am on Sunday out of Brielle. And remember, lunch and soft drinks are included in the charter. Please book through the shop running the charter. You can find the info on the "Dive Calendar" page at www.GypsyBloodDive.com. (Don't pay attention to the fact that it says "17 spots left" as it's not accurate.)

About the Gypsy Blood:

The Gypsy Blood's goal is simple: to be the best dive charter operation anywhere. When you come aboard this 2003, USCG certified and inspected, 50 foot Evans custom dive boat you'll find out out why divers come back time and time again. The "Big Gypsy" features separate mens and ladies heads, a fresh-water wash down, and a wide step-off swim platform and T-ladder that make for easy entry and exit.

Designed by divers for divers, the Gypsy Blood is the only dive boat of it's kind in New Jersey. With plenty of room for all your dive gear - on the wide open deck, in the spacious salon, or in the six-berth cabin - and a cruising speed of well over 20 knots we are confident you will love your experience aboard the "Big Gypsy"!
