I recently bought a Atomic M1 and I have a few question about using it whith Nitrox.
If I used it with clean air (21%) from oxyclean tank can I still use it with 80% O2 later or should I limit it to 50% ?
Why is there a limit to 80% what is the problem with the 20% needed for pur oxygen ?
Thank you

Welcome to the board.

The rule for any reg that is being used for <40% O2 is that it should always be used with O2 compatible air regardless. That is no Grade E air but modified Grade E air (aka hyper filtered air). So along as you are using mod Grade E you are fine with using <40% O2 later. BTW I am not sure what "clean" air means, hopefully O2 compatible air.

As for the 80% limit - that is a "safety" limit put into place (wink-wink nod-nod).

FWIW I have M1s which I use strictly for <40% O2 and only for deco. They do not see much use compared to my other Atomic regs and that is fine, keeps them clean and ready for 100% O2.
